Biblical Counseling - No Fee
There are several members of The Crossing who have gone through training and/or certification in the ministry of biblical counseling. They are dedicated to helping others through life’s struggles by applying scriptural principles and truths in practical ways. Dr. Don Delwood has been practicing Internal Medicine in the Columbia area for more than 20 years and has been passionately interested and involved with biblical counseling for over 15 years. As one of the founding elders at The Crossing, he has been heading up a growing team of church members who are trained in biblical counseling. This team has been providing counseling to members and attenders of The Crossing for several years.
The Crossing Biblical Counseling team consists of:
Areas of Interest
Specialty areas include pre-marital counseling, marital communication, habitual behavior including substance abuse, pornography and others, depression and anxiety, and children rebellion issues.
The Crossing Biblical Counseling Team is typically available on Sunday mornings during one of the services, Monday afternoon and evenings and selected other evenings based as arranged.
A Team Approach
Dr. Delwood and others on the The Crossing Biblical Counseling Team typically will counsel in pairs—often a husband/wife team but it may be other combinations according to time available and the particular problems that are being addressed.
Biblical Counseling Fees
There are no fees for meeting with a biblical counselor on the team, though there is a no-show fee of $50. (See cancellation policy).
How To Get Started
To make an appointment with Dr. Delwood or someone on The Crossing Biblical Counseling Team, please email . He can also be contacted by cell text message at the number given out during first session. You will also need to fill out the Adult Intake and Informed Consent forms and return them to the church office prior to first session. You may leave them in the Counseling Ministry mailbox at the front desk with “Attn: Dr. Delwood” written on the sealed envelope.
What else do I need to know?
Sessions are usually between 30–60 minutes in duration and will take place at The Crossing in either the office area or in the prayer room. You should plan on 60 minutes for the first session. Please bring your Bible and any books that we are referencing. You are also expected to bring any homework that has been assigned. Commitment to completing the homework is a direct indicator of your participation, and without it, progress will be very limited.
