Seeds of Promise

Planting the promises of God in little kids’ hearts.

If you have an infant through 5-year-old, we welcome your child to Seeds of Promise, our Tuesday morning children’s ministry. Our ministry’s mission is to plant the promises of God in little kids’ hearts in a fun, engaging, and relevant way. While you study God’s Word and connect with other women on Tuesday mornings, our hope is that your kids will grow in their faith in a caring and safe place, while having a blast at the same time!

Jess Soete, our Early Childhood Director, coordinates Seeds of Promise. Jess will be present in the Early Childhood wing every Tuesday morning and available to answer any questions you may have. Here are some of the goals that Jess and her team are excited to implement this winter:

1) Bible Lessons that Connect with Kids’ Hearts
This winter, 3–5-year-olds will learn about Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt and into the Promise Land. They will begin learning about God speaking to Moses through the burning bush and end with the story of Jericho’s walls falling down.

Our 1 and 2-year-olds will learn one lesson per month, beginning with Jesus Feeding the 5000 (Matthew 14:13–21; Mark 6:30–44; Luke 9:10–17; John 6:1–15). Each week, the children will experience a fun, ageappropriate Bible lesson, high-energy songs, and hands-on activities. Our lessons are taken from the same curriculum used on Sunday mornings.

2) Consistency with the Sunday Morning Routine
We will maintain a morning routine that is similar to what kids experience at Crossing Kids on Sundays and at Night Crossing on Wednesdays. Ages 2s through 5s can expect free play, an engaging lesson and activities, songs, snacks, playground time, and lots more.

3) Leadership in the Classroom
Each classroom will have a team leader (a mom or older, experienced adult) whom your child can be assured will be in his/her classroom each week. The team leader will provide direction to the other sitters in the room, be a consistent presence in the classroom, and make sure the class stays on their routine.

4) Plenty of Experienced Sitters
We will strive to have more than enough experienced sitters in each classroom each week, so that you can be assured that your child is getting the proper care and attention he/she needs.

As always, our goal is safety in the classroom. All of our sitters must go through an extensive, nationwide background check, an application process, and attend our training session. In addition, we will continue to enforce our registration system for dropping o! and picking up children.
