At The Crossing, we believe genuine faith is “tangible.” In other words, it works itself out in deeds of love and service. That’s why we believe that every person attending the church should look to make the transition to becoming an active participant in its ministry.
In fact, God promises us that every believer has been equipped to play a significant role in serving others. This means that a church’s vitality and effectiveness is directly linked to the service of those who attend. Because of this, we’re committed to helping each person at The Crossing find an appropriate place to serve Christ by serving others—matching ministry needs with interests and skills.

Bookstore Team
All kinds of great resources are available at The Crossing to help people grow in their faith, including books, devotional aides, and sermon CDs. This team helps people get what they need by setting up and running our bookstore on Sunday morning.

Building & Grounds Team
Handy with tools? Have a knack for fixing things? Enjoy working on projects outdoors? If any of these descriptions fit, you’re a good candidate for the building and grounds team. It’s their job to perform general maintenance inside and outside the building, including setting up the building for ministry events. Join this team to help make the building and grounds on our campus an attractive place to visit.

Café Team
The Lamppost Café is a popular place for people to connect over warm beverages and specialty drinks. If you’ve attended The Crossing for just about any length of time you’ve likely noticed it’s a popular stop for many people on your way to a worship service. Given its popularity, it takes a large team of volunteers to run the café on Sunday mornings. It's a great way to serve others at The Crossing and make someone’s Sunday morning a little warmer.

Care Ministry Team
The Care Ministry is designed to show love and concern to people who attend The Crossing, by people who attend The Crossing, through meeting physical and emotional needs. For more information about each ministry, visit our Care Ministry page.

Crossing Kids Team
Children’s Ministry offers variety of service opportunities for people with all kinds of skills and interests. Whether you’re interested in being a teacher or small group leader on Sunday morning, helping with various administrative tasks during the week, volunteering for Kid’s Club, or even donning a costume or bringing a puppet to life, those on this team make The Crossing a great place for kids of all ages.

Communion Team
One of the most significant parts of our worship service is the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. The people serving on this team set up the communion table, replenish the bread and wine between services, and pack everything up at the conclusion of the morning’s worship.

Greeter Team
The greeters are important part of what we do on Sundays. They are the “front door” of The Crossing, helping to create a friendly environment that makes new people feel welcome to the church. They also help people to find a seat in the worship service.

Hospitality Team
The people who serve on the hospitality team provide one of the most popular features at The Crossing. They make sure people can enjoy bagels, donuts, and coffee while connecting socially before and after services.

Music Team
Rather than approaching Sunday morning as a performance, the worship team seeks to use their gifts to lead the congregation in experiencing the glory and grace of God. If you have a skilled voice or instrumental talent, we invite you to explore the possibility of serving with this important ministry.

Parking Team
The parking team makes getting into and out of the parking lot a better experience on Sunday mornings. As we continue to grow parking spaces are at a premium. The parking team directs traffic to available spaces and helps us use our parking lots as efficiently as possible. Join this team to help others find their "spot" at The Crossing.

Prison Ministry
An average of 400 offenders are released from prison each week in the state of Missouri and about 35 a month come back to the Columbia/Boone County area. The Prison Ministry seeks to see the lives of current, and recently released offenders transformed by the grace of Christ. Current opportunities to serve include mentoring, going into the prisons, supporting local transition houses, and helping children with incarcerated parents through Angel Tree Christmas and Sagrada Scholars Bible Camp. Tech Team
Providing full audio, video, lighting, and computer support for all ministries at The Crossing, the tech team brings to life a large variety of events every month. Open to anyone who is willing to give some time and learn new skills, this group has many opportunities for people who have a heart to help musicians, pastors, teachers, and others serve our congregation.
