Tuesday Morning Bible Studies

7:00-7:35 a.m.

Every Tuesday morning, girls meet at the Nifong Panera and guys meet at the Nifong Hy-Vee to eat breakfast and study the Bible together. It is a great opportunity for students to build community and grow in a deeper understanding of their faith.

We are starting a new series this Sunday called "Encounters with Jesus". We are going to go through the Gospels and picking out moments where there were some sort of face to face interactions with Jesus and elaborate on the significance of those encounters. Our hope is that we don't take such meaningful stories in the Bible and overlook them. We as a team hope that Sunday mornings can be used for students to get connected and build relationships with leaders.

Think Tank
Thursdays, 6-8 p.m.

MB 302

Think Tank is a weekly meeting that we have at The Crossing for students to come hang out, have dinner, and break out into small groups. This Spring we are going to go through Philippians. There is no cost for dinner and you don't have to sign up. Have your student come and bring friends!

We are using a curriculum called Teach Me Your Way.  This study encourages students to surrender to Jesus in salvation and submit their minds, hearts, and wills to His way in obedience. The first several lessons of the curriculum focus on the need for salvation, and on God’s work in making idolaters into worshipers of Himself. Then, students examine the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), focusing on the inward heart attitude of a person who is submitted to Christ and His ways. The lessons explore the human tendency to worship the creation rather than the Creator, and to pursue the temporal benefits of the world over the eternal value of knowing Christ.

Small Groups

Sundays 4-5:30 p.m.

MB 304

During this time we build relationships and get to know each other while learning about God and the Bible. We are currently reading The Case for Christ - Student Edition. During the week we read a chapter on our own and then at smal group we have a discussion about it. As part of our discussion we are also watching parts of the Cast for Christ DVD.
