Influences: Growing up on a farm, my husband & kids, my sister Cindy, my BFF Joyce, my free-spirited friend Berta, my friend & mentor Cindy.


Epic Moments: Becoming a mom, beginning of my understanding grace, tangibly experiencing God's love and sufficiency after losing our son.


Education: Early education under the tutelage of the Sisters of Notre Dame, Fatima High School & B.S., D.O. from Redel Institute.

Favorite Bands/Music: Classical music, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Dave Mathews Band, John Coltrane, Ray Charles, BB King, Allison Krausse,  Bebo Norman, Mindy Smith.

Best Invention: Heated carseats and air-conditioning.


Favorite Book(s):   The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom; Sometimes Mountains Move by C. Everett Koop; Humility: True Greatness, by C.J. Mahaney; Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller; Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott

Favorite Movies: The Pianist, Life is Beautiful, Chronicles of Narnia, Ever After, It's a Wonderful LIfe, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Young Frankenstein, Princess Bride

Favorite Shows: Seinfeld, The Office, A Charlie Brown Christmas 

Spare Time: Family time, walking the dogs, going for coffee, doing crossword puzzles, cooking, having friends over for dinner, decorating our home, tromping through the woods and enjoying God's creativity in nature.

 

Fear Factors: Snakes.  Any snakes...real or fake, still or moving, pictures, documentaries, books, or discussions about snakes...there's no such thing as a good snake.

 

Biggest Frustration: Not getting 'do-overs' in life.

 

Passion: Living a grateful life that brings glory to God.

Motivation: That I might be used by God.

Personal Motto: Do the best with what you have.   Everything in Moderation.
