Parables: The Stories of Jesus

Jesus is famous for telling short, creative, fictional stories known as parables. But what if you’ve misunderstood them? It’s tempting to turn the parables into “earthly stories with heavenly meaning” whose primary goal is to make a moral point. But Jesus’s parables are subversive and shocking (and sometimes confusing) stories that announce the arrival of God’s kingdom and reveal how we get to be part of it.
