A Christian Meditation with Ephesians 3:16-19

What we want to do in Christian meditation is let go of anxiety not only as a relaxation technique but as something where we are truly calm and at rest because we sense and feel the presence and love and care of God in our lives. Anxiety over shadows our awareness of God because it hijacks all our emotional attention. This means that anxiety can be an early detection system that we’re depending on something other than God for our well-being. As we discussed in our last episode, often when we come to the Bible and read it without envisioning its truth with our imagination, we miss a lot of its transcendent wonders that only imagination can experience. There are certain biblical passages that are so full of spiritual realities we won’t be able to understand unless we experience them with our imagination. What Paul called the eyes of your heart. Ephesians 3:16-19 (NIV) 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord‘s people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge —that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. This is almost ALL imagery. Imagination. A reality we must use the eyes of our heart to experience. Say quietly to yourself… “I am strengthened today because the Holy Spirit is in my inner being.“ “My body and my life is rooted and established in Christ’s love for me today.“ Who can you share this podcast with?
