We are convinced that men are transformed by the gospel through deep friendships with other men. Crossing Men offers a variety of casual events, 3-week Men’s Studies, and ongoing Men’s Groups to help you grow in your faith. The goal for groups is to help you mature as a disciple of Jesus through building strong friendships with other men. We’d love to help you find your place.
The author of Ecclesiastes invites us to face one of the realities we spend most of our lives trying to avoid: the certainty of death. On the surface, this might seem overly grim, but what we find in this book of wisdom is that we are only able to truly live if we keep the end in mind.
In this three-week Thursday Lunch study, we’ll walk through Ecclesiastes alongside insights from the book Living Life Backward, exploring how to live in a world God has described as good but is deeply broken by sin. We’ll discuss how keeping the end in view reshapes our priorities, ambitions, and expectations for the present. Rather than leading to despair, Ecclesiastes will help us receive life as a gift from God, freeing us to live with wisdom, humility, joy, and purpose.
Cost: $30 includes 3 lunches and the book, Living Life Backward
This is not your usual retreat of recreation, teaching, or singing. This is a retreat for those who want to be deeply challenged and changed by Jesus. We are inviting like-hearted men who desire to find the life of wholeness and deep relationships with other men that following Jesus together offers. Come hear gritty and vulnerable stories of brokenness, struggle, redemption, and healing found in Jesus. Have intentional, deep conversations and plenty of free time for rest, reflection, and prayer. Enjoy the gorgeous outdoors, cozy accommodations, and hearty meals of Echo Bluffs State Park lodge. Every aspect of this retreat is designed to move your heart and mind into new depths of relationship with Jesus and other men.
$195 for lodge accommodations or $135 for tent-site reservations with an option to stay a second night for an additional fee. Partial and full scholarships are available. Email Chris McKinney if you need a scholarship.
The retreat starts on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and ends Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Sign up by Sept. 6 to guarantee your spot for the first weekend, and by Oct. 4 for the second weekend!
Join us for a night of pickleball and connection at The Kitchen, Columbia’s premier pickleball venue! We’ve reserved every court for three full hours, so you’ll have plenty of time to play. The cost is $35 and includes three hours of court time, dinner, fountain drinks, and a Crossing Men pickleball shirt. Even if you’ve never picked up a paddle, come learn and have fun. It’s a great chance to meet other men at The Crossing and enjoy a night of friendly competition.
Pay online or at the event with code CASH. Sign up by July 10 to guarantee your shirt.
Men as Allies is True North + Crossing Men’s campaign and fundraiser breakfast to involve men in preventing domestic violence and advocating for victims. As men, we can work together to change the social discourse by becoming influential bystanders — bystanders who hold other men accountable for their actions. This means that women do not have to shoulder alone the community’s responsibility to end violence … they have Men As Allies.
Doors open at 6:30 a.m. for breakfast, and the program will begin at 7:00.
If you are interested in attending or sponsoring a table, please contact Sarah Butler.
Enjoy spending time with other men and meeting new friends at our one-time events. We have events that range from social and active to seasonal men’s conferences and retreats where you will be encouraged in your faith.
Our 3-week Men’s Studies are an easy way to get involved and start building relationships. Men’s Studies are offered at various times and locations around mid-Missouri. From early morning studies, lunch studies, or evening studies - we offer a variety of times, locations, and topics. Choose a study that works for your schedule. There will be plenty of discussion around tables and teaching from pastors. Lunch, dinner, or a light breakfast will be provided.
Men’s Groups consist of 5-10 men meeting weekly, long-term. The goal of men’s groups is to grow deeper in our relationship with God and others through studying and discussing a topic, sharing life’s ups and downs, and praying for one another. You can sign up for a Men’s Group at any time by filling out our Get Connected form below. If you aren’t sure about joining a men’s group, we recommend trying a Men’s Study first so that you can meet a leader and some other men with a shorter commitment.
Childcare is available for Tuesday night Men’s Studies and Groups, as well as many of our on-campus Men’s Events.
We don’t want cost to be a barrier to attending a study or event. If you need a scholarship, please email men@thecrossingchurch.com.
There are many opportunities to serve and disciple others, from setting up and greeting at Men’s Events and Studies, to joining our jail and prison ministry teams, to leading a men’s group. The first step is to fill out our Get Connected form below and tell us what you are interested in.
